I want to give a solid 4.5 stars but will round up to 5. I came to odd duck on a Sunday at 4:30 for happy hr - which is when it starts (and it's everyday! 4:30-5:30). The service was great, and the ambiance is fabulous! In my opinion the best time to come is happy hour since otherwise some of the dishes are kinda expensive relative to portion (eg the ceviche - absolutely DELICIOUS, but it's a very small appetizer portion for like $18 as the normal price? Happy hr price is $13.50, 25% off). The wagyu burger though in my opinion was HUGE, filling, and almost tooo delicious... it's VERY heavy though, I ate 3/4 of it and gave 1/4 to my friend, and I was definitely done with just 3/4 of it. The fried aged cheese and wagyu are what do it, but the sauce and add ins round it out so it's just juicy and delicious. I also had the French 86 which was a $10 mocktail with orange and lavender - it was really refreshing. Also - bathrooms immaculate, and there was plenty of street parking next to the building/around the corner like they advertise on their site. Overall I think Odd duck absolutely lives up to the hype! If someone invited me for a happy hour, I would gladly go any time :)

Great spot for a date night if you like eating at the bar like us. The bar is massive and bigger than the able area. Every item on the menu is a well thought out bite and the drinks were pretty good. The ceviche was my favorite, so good, loved the redfish. The shrimp with pepper sauce had a big kick, cornbread was salty but I loved it, steak was grilled just right. The watermelon drink was a little sweet/ slightly off balance, but not bad. Their wine selection was limited, and the only bottle of rose on the menu was out so we ending up with the Pinot Noir and it was perfect for Summer. We sat at the bar and there is one spot where the AC blows directly on you, I was so cold I had to step outside between courses, but they let us move to the other side of the bar before our last course, which was much better. I think I would have enjoyed the food more if it wasn't so cold, but now I know not to sit in those specific spots next time.

Very casual yet upscale interior. Our party of 4 was seated on the side which appeared to be a closed in patio type area. Our server Jessica was excellent, answering all questions and concerns, detailing the menu with recommendations and constant attention to water refills; replacement dinnerware and such. Valet is complimentary. For a party of four we were advised to order at least 8 shareable portions. We had the August 2024 menu. We ordered ceviche, cornbread, grilled shrimp, Waygu steak, quail, goat pizza, redfish. We added two desserts- the melon dish and the peach cobbler. Two drinks- watermelon Fresca with Lunazul tequila and the comfortably plum with mescal. The general consensus of the group was "good"; "ok";"wonderful let's order all of this again" and for me, my faves were the cornbread and the ceviche. The redfish was a winner. Pizza, steak, and quail all fell in the middle. The grilled shrimp was agreeably the least of our favorites-and heads up it comes with the heads on, so if that's not your sort of thing, maybe skip these spicy sea servings! Of dessert, the melon ice cream was a pleasant surprise- light yet satisfying and the cobbler was just ok. The peach cobbler or its accompanying ice cream had a heavy anise or licorice flavor which befits the restaurant's name- odd But this is coming from a true GA peach who has her own expectations of peach cobbler.

We've been a few times and always had excellent food and service. On fact, I'm not sure which makes this restaystand out more. Simply divine. 3-4 plates for two people to share makes a perfect dinner. The attention to layers of flavor, unexpected combinations, and ever changing menu makes coming an experience each time. The servers always know the menu and their suggestions are so helpful. I always try something that I would not have ever tried before, and have never been disappointed. They are also very attentive to allergies.

A cool eclectic vibe that does high end dining with a laid back feel. Me and my fiancee went during their happy hour that does 25% off food which was nice. We started with drinks- I had the "Spill The Chai" and it was awesome. Bourbon infused with chai however it's fully translucent so not milky at all but with a hint of milk/chai flavors. We were told 4 plates is enough for two people so we ordered two apps, the ceviche and Shrimp. The ceviche was very fresh and the sauce and chips mixed together was amazing 4.5/5. The shrimp was a little overpowering with a smokey grilled taste and just wasn't what I was expecting 3.3/5. Then for the main course we shared the Quail and Wagu Steak. The quail was great and the sauce was Cajun style and the inside of the quail was filled with this delicious Cajun rice 4.3/5. Last was the steak and it was a bit underwhelming. The light gravy and fried potato balls were absolutely perfect 5/5. If that was the only thing on the plate I'd be content! However, the steak itself was really chewy, and was surprisingly hard to cut. Maybe it was the cut of wagyu but when I think of wagyu I think buttery melty steak. It just didn't hit the mark on the actual meat part of the dish 3/5. Fun experience and a place I'd consider going back for happy hour and maybe just sticking to the items I really liked.

The business may have been around since 2009 (started as a food truck), but after all these years of visiting Austin, I never had a meal there. That finally changed and I'm glad it did. The ambiance was great, the façade is now overgrown with plant life, almost obscuring the sign. Inside the vibes were chill, unpretentious, and open. Service was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our server gave us a quick rundown complete with recommendations and a game plan on how many plates to order. Odd Duck's menu specializes in plates to share. Our favorites: Cast iron cheddar cornbread, smoked tomato butter: Never had tomato butter before, it paired wonderfully with the cornbread. Aged wagyu burger: A succulent piece of beef it was topped with a piece of fried beer cheese which had a very unique texture and almost mistaken it as a friend vegetable. Braised goat pizza: A true goat-themed dish complete with goat cheese and oaxaca pulled goat. Blackened redfish: The exterior was well crisped and seasoned leaving the interior fish nice and delicate. A great dinner finished with a solid Peach cobbler: we all walked out very happy and satisfied.

We went there for an early dinner and for the new happy hour prices. The cornbread was so good! We also had the salmon and the quail. The flavors of both were amazing however the portions rather small for the price. Good service and love the setting. Also enjoyed listening to their playlist.

Fine dining flavors in a casual atmosphere. Sign me up every time. Everything is locally sourced and fresh which means the menu item may not stay long so if you have the chance to go.... Try everything! Although I loved everything my favorite was the crawfish ravioli and corn bread.

Odd duck has been on our short list for a long time and we finally stopped in! This place is Farm to table with a local & seasonal food menu. Everything is made to share so your supposed to order 4-5x things on the menu for two people. It's very vibey without being too ritzy. Food - Everything we had was unique and special in its own way. I love trying as much food as possible so I was stoked to order 5x different items! The grilled shrimp was amazing! It's crispy, different and I honestly wanted to order another one. The corn bread was about as good as it gets. The snapper was my favorite dish by far. We did have a misfire on the crawfish ravioli that was really bad. It tasted like someone accidentally dumped the entire salt shaker into the meal. I'm not sure how that got past their quality control. It would've been perfect if it wasn't seasoned so poorly. Valet - Valet on site so don't worry too much about parking. It's also free if your dining. Everything we had was excellent and we'll definitely be coming back! Menu Change - I'm a big fan of restaurants that constantly change the menu so this place will be in my rotation of similar restaurants and dining experiences!
